INDIANAPOLIS –
With seven at-large selections voted by the coaches, the full Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Golf All-Conference Team for the 2020-21 season was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The conference championship meet was conducted in Lexington, Ky., at the University Club of Kentucky, on the Big Blue Course. The top eight finishers, including ties (nine total student-athletes), were awarded all-conference plaques on site.
 
Trevecca Nazarene earned the team title with a tournament record score (-12) and the individual medalist performance was earned by senior Ryan Rozic.
 
The Great Midwest Player of the Year by near unanimous coaches' choice is Trevecca Nazarene's Blain Turner. Turner was the league leader in scoring average with 71.18 strokes per 18 holes, his second time in his career (2018-19) leading all players in scoring.
 
Turner had a pair of medalist victories in 2020-21 and seven top-10 finishes while playing a total of 22 rounds. He finished top five in the conference championship and was conference athlete of the week three different times this year.
 
Turner also had a pair of 66's (-6), tied for the second lowest round in the conference this season, to go with a 67 (-5) carded at the Music City Invitational.
 
The Great Midwest Coach of the Year was Trevecca Nazarene's David Head as he guided the Trojans to their seventh conference team title in eight seasons. Head also has the Trojans in the Central / Midwest Regional with the league's AQ. The Trojans are competing in Kansas City, Mo., with Hillsdale and Findlay also getting at-large nods from the national committee.
 
TNU was second in the conference in team scoring average with an average of 291.4 strokes per round. The team's best round was a 279 (-9) at the Music City Invitational. Head had four of his players earn a place on the 2020-21 all-conference team.
 
Excelling as Great Midwest Freshman of the Year was Findlay's Justin Atkinson. The first-year standout from Brookfield, Ohio, was fifth in the Great Midwest in scoring average with 73.04 strokes per round. He also earned an at-large spot on the all-conference team for his first-year performance on the links.
 
Joining Atkinson following the coaches voting was his teammate Tanner Grzegorczyk, who was fourth in the league in scoring average. Tiffin's Noah Barth and Nico Kyprian, the sport's recipient for the inaugural Elite 23 Award were also voted in. Hillsdale's George Roberts and Robert Holden also earned all-conference team status with Cedarville's Cody Cogdill.
