INDIANAPOLIS – With the fall portion of the 2021-22 in the books, Kentucky Wesleyan was named the recipient of Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week honors on Thursday.

The Panthers were at home at The Pearl Club while serving as host for the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational in a field with 12 teams and four individuals.
 
Nickol was KWC’s top performer as the Panthers finished fourth as a team with a two-round tournament score of 608.
 
The sophomore tied for runner-up honors as he posted rounds of 77 (+5) and a 67 (-5) while sitting just four strokes off the medalist pace at 140 (-4) from McKendree’s Fabian Wennerlof.
 
Nickol was one of a pair of KWC golfers in the top five of the individual standings while joining teammate Jonah Graham, who tied for fifth.
 
Nickol is pacing KWC in scoring average this season with a 74.28 mark in 14 rounds counted. He was coming off an 11th-place performance in KWC’s last event at the McKendree Bearcat Dual Gender.
