INDIANAPOLIS – With the fall winding down to a close and cold weather bearing down, Trevecca Nazarene and Tiffin collected Great Midwest Athletic Conference Golf Athletes of the Week honors.
 
Men’s Athlete of the Week
Ryan Rozic
Trevecca Nazarene
Senior
Melbourne, FL (Viera HS/Eastern Florida State)
 
Rozic’s latest performance at the West Georgia Matt Dyas Invitational ties him as the league leader in scoring average in TNU’s final event of the fall season.
 
The senior was among a handful of low numbers posted by the field in Carrollton at Oak Mountain GC as he tied for seventh overall in the field.
 
Rozic finished with a three-round score of 210 (71-68-71) as the Trojans ended up in sixth place as a team.
 
Rozic has now has a stroke average of 71.7 to tie Findlay’s Luke Kelly going into the spring. In his 11 rounds and four tournaments played, he has three top-10 finishes, two of which he finished in the top five.
 
Women’s Athlete of the Week
Amanda Johansson
Tiffin
Sophomore
Laholm, Sweden (Aspero Idrottsgymnasium)
 
After winning Great Midwest Freshman of the Year in 2018-19, Johansson has three top-10 finishes and a medalist victory to start her sophomore campaign.
 
Johansson shined at the Panther Invitational hosted by Davenport as Ohio Dominican and Ohio Valley from the league also competed.
 
It was a clean sweep for the Dragons as they captured top team hardware and Johansson toppled the field with a two-round total of even par 144 (74-70).
 
Tiffin had three players finish in the top 10 along with Alice Putoud (t4) and Emily Koehler (t9) for the team victory of 299-312—611.
 
Johansson leads Tiffin in scoring average at 76.1 through five events in the fall season. She is currently sixth in the conference in that category going into the spring portion of the schedule.
