INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the official addition of Micaela Liddane, Coordinator of Championships and External Relations.
Liddane will work with the conference’s 13 member institutions to assist in the organization and execution of all 23 Great Midwest championship sport offerings.
She will also be instrumental in developing and maintaining relationships with conference sponsors and vendors while assisting with scheduling, awards and website content management.
“We are excited to welcome Micaela to the Great Midwest team,” expressed Great Midwest Commissioner Tom Daeger. “We are blessed, with our expanded membership, to offer championships opportunities in 23 conference sports, the second-most in NCAA DII. It was important for the continued success of these events that we identify an individual that could assist in ensuring the positive experience for student-athletes, administrators and fans, we have worked hard to develop.”
“I’m eager to see Micaela embrace the role and am confident we have identified an individual that will address the detail necessary to continue to achieve these championship expectations,” Daeger added. “We are fortunate to have her join the conference office staff.”
Before starting her position in the Great Midwest office, Liddane worked in marketing and client relations for Stability Enhancement Systems (SES), a Columbus-based company dedicated to reducing injury risk through athletes through targeted personalized interventions.
Liddane was a former student-athlete and team captain in the women’s basketball program at Ohio Dominican University, a first-year member institution in the Great Midwest.
She was also an assistant coach with the ODU women’s basketball staff in 2015-16, working directly with current Panthers’ head coach Lynsey Warren.
From 2012-15, Liddane was a point guard with the Panthers, part of a strong group academically that had ODU ranked second nationally in team GPA during the 2013-14 season.
“I’m very excited about the opportunity to work here at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference,” Liddane said. “It’s an exciting time for the league as it continues to grow and have success. I’m really looking forward to helping conduct championship events to maximize the student-athlete experiences.”
Liddane also worked as a key support staff member to help Ohio Dominican host the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship Elite Eight last season in Alumni Hall. ODU will also serve as the host site for the 2019 and 2021 NCAA Division II women’s Elite Eight contests.
Liddane, a native of Grosse Pointe, Mich., graduated from Ohio Dominican with a Bachelor of Science in sport management before obtaining her Master of Science degree in the same field in 2016.
