G-MAC Men’s and Women’s Golf Athletes of the Week (April 10)

INDIANAPOLIS - Trevecca Nazarene’s Trevor Lay and Ursuline’s Kennedy Fay were named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Golf Athletes of the Week on Monday.
 
Lay was the top finisher at the NCAA Midwest Regional #4 at Purgatory in Noblesville. The two-round event was shortened to a single round of 18 holes due to inclement weather.
 
The junior newcomer out of Kewnanee, Ill., fired a round of 2-over 74 to tie for 21st in a field comprised of all Midwest Region competition and four other G-MAC schools.
 
TNU finished 17th in the team standings out of 29 teams and the program now turns its focus to the G-MAC Championships in Liberty Township, Ohio, at Four Bridges Country Club.
 
Lay’s scoring average through 15.5 rounds ranks fifth among all conference players. He has a stroke average of 75.4 as the Trojans played their eighth event of the 2016-17 season.
 
Fay, a strong all-conference performer for the Arrows, has established herself among the top-10 scoring leaders in the conference so far.
 
Her effort at the Laura Bump Invitational in Ostrander, Ohio, resulted in a tie for 12th. She carded back-to-back rounds of 84 for a two-day total of 168.
 
Fay’s scoring average on the season through 14 rounds is currently at 89.9.
