INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins junior Tare Mariga was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
 
The Senators toppled Daemen in their only action of the week by a score of 6-3 in Williamsville, N.Y.
 
Mariga earned singles and doubles wins to contribute to D&E’s point total.
 
In singles, he took care of business in straight sets against R. Ruiz Martinez at the No. 2 position.
 
In doubles, he combined with Ivan Bondarenko to win 8-4.
 
The Senators are now 1-2 on the season before getting ready to face Virginia at Wise to start a new week of competition.
