INDIANAPOLIS – Davis & Elkins freshman Ivan Bonderanko was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on Monday.
 
This marks Bonderanko’s second conference weekly honor of the 2016-17 season.
 
The Senators improved to 5-7 overall while beating Brescia and conference rival Cedarville in head-to-head action over the past week.
 
Bondarenko was a perfect 4-0, winning both singles and doubles opportunities for D&E at the top of the rotation.
 
Against Brescia, Bonderanko defeated Hector Horcajada 7-5, 6-2. In the match against Cedarville, he won over Matt Brumbaugh 6-3, 6-1.

Bonderanko also teamed up with Tare Mariga to win both doubles matches, 8-2 over Cedarville and 8-4 over Brescia.
 
He is now 7-5 overall in singles and 10-2 overall in doubles this season.
