INDIANAPOLIS – Cedarville senior Ryan Shomo was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week on Monday.
 
Shomo and the Yellow Jackets completed matches against Judson, Saint John’s and University of the Sciences, during spring break action down in Florida. The Yellow Jackets improved to 5-7 overall on the year.
 
Shomo was a combined 5-1 in singles and doubles against all three opponents, including a perfect 3-0 mark at the No. 3 singles slot.
 
He won all of his matches in straight sets as Cedarville played three matches in four days.
 
In doubles, Shomo has had a total of four different teammates throughout the season. He is now a perfect 3-0 with Joel Clark and is 6-6 overall in singles competition.
