GREENWOOD, Ind. - Trevecca Nazarene junior Spencer Scarbrough was named the second Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Athlete of the Week for the 2016 spring season.
Scarbrough follows teammate Payton Williams from the first conference weekly award announced on March 7.
Scarbrough tallied a 36-hole total of 141 (70-71) at the Dave Falconer Classic in Danville, Arkansas, early last week. The Trojans finished fifth of 21 in the field as a team.
By finishing with a 141 (-3), Scarbrough was in contention for medalist honors, placing in a tie for third overall along with Williams.
For Scarbrough, the first round two-under par 70 is his lowest round of the season.
His 71 (-1) in round two is his fourth par or lower round of the season.
His four par or better rounds ties his career best and places him with the fifth most in school history in a season.
Scarbrough is now third on the TNU career list with 10 rounds of par or better.
