GREENWOOD, Ind. – Davis & Elkins junior Vincent Hamon was named the second Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for the 2015-16 season on Tuesday.
 
Hamon and the Senators (3-2) held their own against top-tier competition at the Midwest Duals hosted by a nationally-ranked program in the University of Indianapolis.
 
Davis & Elkins tangled with No. 18 UIndy and Indiana-East over the past week, sporting a 1-1 record.
 
Despite falling to the Greyhounds, Hamon held his own against the No. 20 ITA national singles player Arklon Huertas del Pino.
 
Hamon won a combined seven games in an eventual straight-set decision, but the outcome was more than respectable for the junior all-conference performer.
 
Hamon once again played the No. 1 singles spot for D&E and bounced back with a clean slate shutout against Connor Kramer of IU-East the following day.
 
Hamon won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, to up his singles record to 3-1 this season.
