Great Midwest Athletic Conference Announces Pair of Staff Transactions

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Commissioner Tom Daeger officially announced two separate staff transactions in the league office this week.
 
Effective Tuesday, Jon Teetzel was officially appointed as the G-MAC Assistant Commissioner for Internal Operations.
 
Natalie Fiorenza was also pronounced the G-MAC Operations Coordinator and will serve the management team as the Senior Woman Administrator.

Teetzel joins the conference office directly from the NCAA, where he was a member of the amateurism leadership team in the eligibility center. 

His extensive experience at the NCAA featured over seven years of service that originated in academic and membership affairs.
 
“We are excited to add Jon to our staff,” Daeger said. “He brings a wealth of experience from his time at the NCAA and his outstanding customer service skills will be a great asset to our member institutions.”
 
“Jon has a strong passion for Division II athletics and will assist our conference as we expand our membership over the next 18 months,” he added. “We are fortunate to bring in someone with his skill set to the G-MAC team.”
 
Teetzel will monitor NCAA and G-MAC rules compliance, assist membership institutions by providing rules interpretations and review student-athlete eligibility, among other administrative duties.
 
Teetzel was a baseball student-athlete at the NCAA Division II level with Lincoln Memorial University. He also served coaching stints in volleyball/softball at West Georgia State University, Keuka (N.Y.) College, Frostburg State University and Valdosta State University.
 
Teetzel resides in Carmel and completed his undergraduate studies at Lincoln Memorial. He completed his Master of Education at State University of West Georgia and has been an educational instructor at the collegiate level.

Fiorenza transitions to the new role after beginning the 2015-16 academic year in internal operations. She will assist in all aspects of league operations and serve as conference liaison to the G-MAC Student-Athlete Advisory and G-MAC SWA Committees.
 
Fiorenza, a former women’s soccer student-athlete at Indiana University where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees, initially joined the G-MAC following three years of athletic administration at nearby Shelbyville High School.
 
“Natalie has been a tremendous asset to the league during her time with the office and we are pleased to transition her into a new role,” Daeger said. “Her previous experience in athletics administration and strong leadership has proven invaluable. As a former student-athlete and educator, Natalie has a strong desire to cultivate the experience of our league’s student-athletes.”
