GREENWOOD, Ind. – Trevecca Nazarene freshman Larken Whittemore was named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Athlete of the Month for September on Thursday.
 
Whittemore, another impressive first-year student-athlete around the G-MAC this fall, helped the Trojans to a strong showing at Harborside International in the DII Midwest Regional hosted by Lewis University.
 
With all conference teams participating on the men’s side, TNU finished eighth in a strong 31-team field with the GLIAC and GLVC mixed in the standings.
 
Whittemore carded a 1-under par 71 in the first round before taming rainy conditions that affected scores the board in the final round for a 76 (+4).
 
His two-round total of 147 placed him fourth individually. A total of 158 golfers were competing in the event.
 
Trevecca Nazarene has three events scheduled on the men’s side in the month of October, the first being the St. Louis Super Regional.
