OLD HICKORY, Tenn. – (courtesy of @TNUsports) The Trevecca Nazarene University men's golf team finished second at the 5th Annual Trevecca Spring Invitational held at the Old Hickory Country Club. Trevecca's Logan Martin finished seventh as the top Trojan. The weather conditions were difficult for all golfers. The temps were 36 at the start and later included gusting wind with snow flurries that also quickly melted creating damp conditions for the golfers.
The Old Hickory CC course played to a par of 72 over 6600 yards. There were 10 teams and 60 golfers competing.

Trevecca turned in a team score of 297-311=608, which placed them nine back of 2014 TSI Champion Tennessee Wesleyan College. The Bulldogs recorded a 295-304=599 team score.
Aaron Burnett who led the tournament after the first round, finished tied for seventh with a 68-82=150. Burnett played as an individual and didn't count toward the team score.
The counting team scores included Logan Martin, who tied for seventh, with a 74-76=150, Stephen Williams (75-76=151), Spencer Scarbrough (76-75=151), Austin Dillard (72-84=156), and Tyler Phillips (77-88=165).
All of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference schools that field at men's golf teams competed. Kentucky Wesleyan College finished fifth with a 613 and were followed by Cedarville University (620) in sixth, Davis and Elkins College (631) in eighth, Ohio Valley University (633) in ninth, and Alderson Broaddus University (654) in 10th. Cumberland University, who applying for NCAA DII membership and is an provisional member of the conference, finished tied with Trevecca with a 306-302=608.
Former TranSouth opponent Union University finished fourth with a 299-311=610 and Taylor University finished seventh with a 627.
Josh Wheeler of Tennessee Wesleyan College took home the Medalist honors with a 73-74=147. Joining Wheeler on the all-tournament team were: Austin Garrett, Cumberland University - Ryan Botts, Cumberland University - Travis Rodgers, Tennessee Wesleyan. All three were tied with a 148.
Trevecca will return to action on April 7-8 at the Tennessee River Rumble, hosted by Lincon Memorial University, at the Tennessee National Golf Club in Lenior City, Tenn.
