Forsythe's Two Wins Earns Golfer of the Month Honors

11.4.14

INDIANAPOLIS - The last full month of the fall golf season belonged to Jacob Forsythe as the Cedarville senior posted two first place finishes in the month of October.  Forsythe also received a national award from the NCCAA as well for his performances.  For his play, Forsythe has been named Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Month for the month of October.

Forsythe posted a team-low score of 152 (75-77) early in the month as Cedarville won the D&E Senator Shootout, a tournament in which he won with a four-foot putt on the second playoff hole.  It was Forsythe first individual victory since his freshman season.

He didn’t need any playoff holes two weeks later as Forsythe won Cedarville’s own tournament outright posting a 148 (71-77) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.  Cedarville beat out five other teams with a collective 629 (308-321), including many of the G-MAC opponents.

October wasn’t done with Forsythe as the NCCAA presented the senior with the 2014-15 NCCAA Game Plan 4 LIFE Character Award.  The award serves as the top award within the sport recognizing academic excellence, athletic achievement, and Christian service and conduct.
