A pair of ties has jammed up the standings in both divisions as teams try to separate themselves from the pack at the midseason point in the fall season.
Salem International, Davis & Elkins and Alderson Broaddus, are both 2-1 in the G-MAC’s Northeast while Cedarville and Trevecca are tied at 1-0-1 in the Southwest division.
G-MAC Athlete of the Week Jeremiah Wright from Trevecca scored the game winner in double overtime to lift the Trojans over Kentucky Wesleyan in a climactic finish.
Wright found the net in the 109th minute and change late into the night, just a few seconds before a tie could be declared.
SIU scored wins vs. Washington Adventist and Ohio Valley (0-9, 0-3 G-MAC) before giving Slippery Rock all it could handle in a 2-1 final on Tuesday.
Lukas Grosse-Puppendahl scored the eventual game winner for D&E in the 17th minute and keeper Daniel Nock made seven saves in his shutout effort vs. Alderson Broaddus, handing the Battlers their first G-MAC defeat.

WOMEN'S SOCCER
Brooke Gann (Trevecca) and Vanessa Consiglio (Ursuline) both carved out historical records in their program’s respective record books, further solidifying themselves as two of the most prolific playmakers in the league.
Gann became the career goals leader for the Trojans and Consiglio, the league’s reigning G-MAC Athlete of the Week, became the Arrow’s all-time career leader in assists.
Led by Consiglio’s two assists against Cedarville (4-4, 0-3 G-MAC) in a rematch of last year’s G-MAC championship final, the Arrows edged the Yellow Jackets, 2-0. Paige Rowan scored both goals for Ursuline (6-2, 3-0 G-MAC) with both scoring strikes coming in the first half.
Gann scored and had an assist as Trevecca (4-3, 2-1 G-MAC) blanked Kentucky Wesleyan (4-3, 1-2 G-MAC) on Saturday, 3-0. She now has 40 goals in her career to date with plenty of time to add more relatively early in her senior campaign.
Gann was tabbed as the G-MAC Athlete of the Week following her efforts on the pitch.
On Thursday, Davis & Elkins’ Emma Davis recorded the coveted hat trick and teammate Ashley Muscat was a goal shy of equaling the feat against Salem International (0-5, 0-3 G-MAC) in a 6-0 final.
The Senators (4-1-2, 3-0 G-MAC) were battle tested in their non-conference schedule and have emerged with a clean 3-0 start in conference play. Goalkeeper Ashley Winkelspecht made seven saves in a 1-0 shutout against Alderson Broaddus (2-4-1, 2-1 G-MAC) as D&E scored early in the seventh minute and defense prevailed the rest of the way.
Also against SIU, Ohio Valley’s (1-6-1, 1-2 G-MAC) offense opened up to the tune of a 7-0 shutout as Tijana Radman scored twice and five others booted goals.

VOLLEYBALL
Ursuline (9-2, 2-0 G-MAC) was still untouchable following a 3-0 performance since Wednesday as the Arrows ran their current win streak up to nine straight. UC hadn’t suffered a defeat since its season opener against Kutztown on Sept. 5 and the Arrows even made that contest a barnburner while finishing in five sets.
The streak came to an unfortunate end against Tiffin earlier this week, the same school that interrupted the Arrows’ soccer streak as well this fall.
Many integral parts are coming together for Ursuline, including sophomore Makayla Windau, who produced three double-doubles in four matches last week to earn G-MAC Athlete of the Week accolades.
As a team, Ursuline tops the league in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage and is second in assists. The Arrows beat Ohio Valley (8-8, 0-1 G-MAC) and Ohio Christian in Saturday’s tri-match.
OVU’s Amanda Weatherwax (.316) and Imani Ward (.309) are the G-MAC’s top two leaders in hitting percentage while Jessica Simpson (10.22) leads the league in assists per set.
Sharing the lead of the G-MAC standings with Ursuline is Cedarville (10-6, 2-0 G-MAC), which is rounding into midseason form having won six straight. The Yellow Jackets took care of business against Alderson Broaddus and Davis & Elkins on the road for key league victories.
Cedarville swept Urbana in straight sets as well on Wednesday night.
Kentucky Wesleyan (5-5, 0-0 G-MAC) split four matches played and after reeling off seven straight wins, Trevecca (8-7, 0-0 G-MAC finds itself trying to halt a current four-match slide. Davis & Elkins (4-6, 1-2 G-MAC) split a pair of conference battles vs. Cedarville/Central State.
Alderson Broaddus (5-10, 2-1 G-MAC) remains in the hunt in the top half of the standings after beating Central State (0-4, 0-3 G-MAC). The Battlers also flexed their muscle against Walsh from the GLIAC with a five-set win.
Salem International (1-11, 1-1 G-MAC) recorded the program’s first-ever win and first-ever conference win against Central State. Rachel Hess hit .316 and had 10 kills to lead the way for the Tigers in their program’s marquee moment. She is fifth in the conference in kills per set (3.03).

Cantaral was a deserving pick for G-MAC Athlete of the Week.
D&E’s Marissa Long and Amber Abbott both crossed the finish line for top-10 finishes as well.
Ohio Valley was also present in the field and sophomore April Kirk clocked in at 20:16 to respectively place third overall and lead the Fighting Scots to fourth. The Senators clumped together as a cluster as Shane Ickes (ninth), Austin Jenner (10th), Paul Louzy (11th), Matt Zorn (14th) and Nick Akins (15th), ran similar times.
Even more impressive is all D&E runners that placed in the top 15 are either freshmen or sophomores.
