INDIANAPOLIS- Week four of men’s soccer in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference concluded on Saturday, Sept. 19. Teams went head-to-head to compete for their spot among the top of the conference leaderboards. The week included close games, shutouts, and even hat tricks.

Game Highlights:

• Tiffin and Findlay ended in a 1-1 tie. The action started early in this game with Andre Sardinha scoring for the Oilers in the 10th minute before Zach Garcia answered for the Dragons in the 16th minute.
• Ashland beat Walsh, 4-0 in dominating fashion. Tom Woodward recorded his first collegiate hat trick with three goals, while Danail Mihaylov scored his first goal as an Eagle. Jaime Duran made six saves to earn himself a second shutout of the season.
• Malone attained a 4-1 win over Cedarville, earning the Pioneers their first conference win of the season. James Bolton, Sean Waweru and Alexander Castro Morales each scored for the Pioneers, while Cedarville’s Alex Free added his own goal in the second half.
• Thomas More earned two G-MAC victories in a row, by overcoming Kentucky Wesleyan, 2-0 on Thursday. They went on to narrowly beat Cedarville, 1-0 on Saturday. Luca Mammi scored both goals in the win over Kentucky Wesleyan. Meanwhile, freshman Elliot Konsek scored the game-winner against Cedarville. Joey Jones recorded clean sheets in both wins.
• Lake Erie also picked up two G-MAC wins, shutting out Ohio Dominican 4-0 before defeating Malone, 1-0. Alex Banjac recorded a record-tying hat trick against the Panthers, while Cal Babiash added a goal. Veljko Radovanovic then scored the game-winner against Malone in the 38th minute.
• No. 25 Tiffin dominated Walsh, 5-0 by opening the game scoring three goals in only 17 minutes. Garbhan Feeney scored twice. Sam Brittain, Zach Garcia and Andre Robison each added their own goal, and Nick Cherry made three saves to ensure the shutout.
• Northwood earned their second straight win with a 2-0 victory over Ashland, as Emmanuel Almond scored the initial goal in the 26th minute and Brendan Gerard added another goal in the 87th minute.
