INDIANAPOLIS- The Great Midwest Athletes of the week for March 30th, 2026 are based on student-athlete performance from March 23rd, 2026- March 29th, 2026.
 
Baseball
North Division
Pitcher:
Brenden Smith / Hillsdale College / So. / Pitcher / Schererville, IN
Hillsdale College Brenden Smith pitched eight scoreless innings against the Ohio Dominican Panthers.  He gave up just two hits with four strikeouts and three walks leading the conference with a 2.01 ERA in five starts.
 
Player:
Aiden Booth  / University of Findlay / Jr. / Infield / Sidney, Ohio
Findlay Oiler Aiden Booth aided the Oilers in a program-record with ten straight wins.  Booth went 8-14 from the plate with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.
 
South Division
Pitcher:
Hayden Hrach  / Walsh University  / So. / Pitcher / Hudson, Ohio
Walsh Cavalier Hayden Hrach in seven innings pitched gave up two hits, one run, one walk and seven strikeouts.  He had a no-hitter through six innings.
 
Player:
Josh Algarin  / Walsh University / Sr.  / Outfield / Fremont, California
Walsh Cavalier Josh Algarin was 12-for-21 with three RBIs, four walks, one stolen base, three doubles and two triples.
 
 
Men’s Golf
Cahle Roth  / University of Findlay / So.  / Archbold, Ohio
Cahle Roth and the Oilers won the Findlay Spring invitational in a field of nationally-ranked teams. Roth fired rounds of 69-71-67 (207) to finish runner-up as an individual.
 
Men’s Outdoor Track
Louis Ginane  / Tiffin University / Gr. / Paris, France
Tiffin Dragon Louis Ginane ran 14:11.8 at the Raleigh Relays in the 5K.  He’s ranked fifth in division two and first in the conference.  He’s also ranked first in the Midwest Region.
 
Men’s Outdoor Field
Alan De Falchi / Lake Erie College / Gr. / Santo Andres, Brazil
Lake Erie Storm Alan De Falchi broke his own program record in the weight throw with a throw of 58.30-meters; an 3.41-meter improvement from the previous week.  His mark also set a new meet record and stadium record, while also allowing him to rank as the second farthest throw in conference history.
 
Women’s Outdoor Field
Victoria Harvey / University of Findlay  / Jr. / Etna., Ohio
Findlay Oiler Victoria Harvey won the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Outdoor Open with a pole vault of 4.09-meters.
 
Women’s Outdoor Track
Anna Roessner / Hillsdale College / Fr. / Fort Recovery, Ohio
Hillsdale Charger Anna Rossner won three events at the Chuck Haering Classic in Colorado.  She won the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay alongside teammates.  She is the top ranked conference athlete in all three events.
 
Men’s Lacrosse
Defensive:
Cullen Green  / Seton Hill University / Jr. /Defense / Endicott, NY
Seton Hill Griffin Cullen Green finished the week with six caused turnovers and five ground balls with limited playing time.
 
Offensive:
Jayden Ashland / Davenport University / Sr. / Attack / Lawrenceville, NY
Davenport Panther Jayden Ashley led the Panthers to a perfect 2-0 record on the week.  She found a career high of 12 points against Thomas More.
 
Women’s Lacrosse
Defensive:
Caliana Januchowski / Walsh University / Jr. / Midfielder / West Seneca, Ohio
Walsh Cavalier Caliana Januchowski caused seven turnovers, eight ground balls alongside four goals and three assists in two conference victories.
 
Offensive:
Lauren Walsh  / Tiffin University / Jr.  / Grand Rapids, Mich.
Tiffin Dragon Lauren Walsh scored five goals on seven shot attempts along with five assists for ten total points, a career-high.  Walsh continues to lead the conference in assists (31), assists per game (3.1), points (62) and points per game (6.2).
 
Softball
Pitcher:
Gauri Naik  / Walsh University / Fr. / Pitcher / Lewis Center, Ohio
Walsh Cavalier Gauri Naik in six innings pitched found 0.00 earned runs, only two total hits and ten strikeouts.
 
 
Player:
Nathalie Hagle  / Hillsdale College / So. / Right Field / Commerce Twp., MI
Hillsdale Charger Nathalie Hagle hit .429 with two doubles, three home runs and ten RBIs.  She currently leads the conference in RBIs (30), third in doubles (10), fourth in home runs (5) and fourth in runs scored (22) on the season.
 
Men’s Tennis
Martin Driesner / Tiffin University / Jr. / Andilly, France
 Tiffin Dragon Martin Driesner went 2-1 in singles play and 3-0 in doubles.
 
Women’s Tennis
Jem Choi  / Tiffin University/ Jr. / Wrexham, U.K.
Tiffin Dragons Jem Choi went 3-0 singles play while also finding a 6-0 win in doubles.
