OVERVIEW:
The Great Midwest women’s basketball programs entered week eight of the 2025-26 season. Teams continued conference play as Thomas More, Northwood, Malone, and Findlay each picked up two wins on the week.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Thomas More defeated Kentucky Wesleyan and Lake Erie as Rylee Turner totaled 18 points, 14 rebounds, 12 assists, and five blocked to help the Saints improve to 8-2 in league play.
  • Alyssa Ziehler led the Oilers, averaging a double-double with 15.5 points and 11.5 rebounds. Ziehler was 15-24 from the field and also added seven steals to her stat line.
  • Malone’s Erin Kaufman led the Pioneers to wins over Ohio Dominican and rival Walsh. Kaufman poured in 15 points and grabbed a whopping 31 rebounds. She had a career-high 18 rebounds in a 63-52 win at Ohio Dominican. The Pioneers then went on to defeat Walsh, forcing the Cavaliers to 17 turnovers. Malone’s bench put up a huge performance, outscoring the Walsh bench 35-3.
  • Northwood remains at the top of the league standings at 11-1. The Timberwolves were 26-59 from the field, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 61-48. Maeve St. John then helped lead NU to a close victory over Ohio Dominican. St. John put up 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
  • Hillsdale outlasted Ashland in a nail-biting 53-52 victory for the Chargers. Savannah Smith came off the bench for the Chargers, scoring 27 points on 11-19 from the field . The win snapped Hillsdale’s 14-game losing streak to Ashland.
