Terry Connor has announced the hiring of head baseball coach Cole Shaffer on Thursday (July, 31st). Shaffer becomes the eighth head coach of the Saints dating back to 1956.

Shaffer comes to Thomas More following a two year stint at Ohio Dominican University, where he served as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator/Strength & Conditioning for the Panther's baseball program. With the help of Shaffer the Panthers reached the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Championship game in 2025. Prior to Ohio Dominican, Shaffer made stops at LSU-Shreveport, and California University (PA) as an assistant coach. He also served as the head coach of the Licking County Settlers of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League in 2023.
Cole Shaffer is a 2020 graduate of Clarion University, where he was a four-year starter for the baseball team. After undergrad, he attended Indiana University of PA, where he earned a Masters of Science in Sport Management.
