Findlay, Ashland, Cedarville Top Three in Latest Presidents' Cup Standings

INDIANAPOLIS- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released an update of the Presidents’ Cup standings heading into the holiday break. Reigning 2024-25 champions Findlay leads the race with a total of 59.5 points through the fall season.
 
The Oilers had a successful fall season with football, volleyball, women’s soccer, and both cross country teams finishing in the top five of their respective standings. Volleyball and women’s soccer were the highest point-getters for the Oilers at 11.5 and 11.0 points, respectively. The volleyball team won the East Division and earned a bid to the Midwest Regional for the second consecutive year. Women’s soccer earned the No. 2 seed in the conference championship and advanced to the final before falling to eventual champion Ashland. The Oiler football program captured their second ever G-MAC title after finishing the regular season with a 8-1 conference mark.
 
Tied in second and third is Ashland and Cedarville, respectively. For Ashland, the Eagles were co-champions in football and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Football Tournament. The women’s soccer team were crowned regular season and tournament champions and added 12 points to Ashland’s 52.0 point total. The men’s cross country program had their highest finish since joining the league, coming in second at the conference championship meet. Volleyball added a high of 13 points after capturing the South Division title. Women’s cross country earned the second-most points for the Yellow Jackets with 12 points after a first-place finish at the G-MAC championship meet. Cedarville went on to place seventh overall at the national meet.
 
Walsh and Tiffin round out the top five at 42.5 and 41.0 points, respectively. Walsh won the men’s cross country title and earned runner-up status on the women’s side. The Dragons once again won the regular season in men’s soccer and went on to win the tournament title.
 
The Presidents’ Cup is awarded to the institution that collects the highest tally of points based on regular season winning percentage (standings) or individual meet results (sports with no conference regular season schedule) through the completed spring championship season.
