INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has announced its leadership team for the 2026-27 academic year, with Claire Balintfy and Lindsey Greb selected to serve as Co-Vice Chairs and Porter Smith appointed as Social Media Chair.
Balintfy, a junior on the Northwood women's lacrosse team,and Greb, a junior on the Thomas More tennis team, will work alongside the SAAC Executive Committee to help guide the conference's student-athlete leadership initiatives, facilitate communication among institutional SAAC representatives, and continue advancing the committee's mission of enhancing the student-athlete experience throughout the Great Midwest.
"We are thrilled to welcome Claire and Lindsey to our executive board as Co-Vice Chairs of the Great Midwest Student-Athlete Advisory Committee," said Associate Commissoner Katie Gilhooly. "The unique perspectives and proven leadership they bring from Northwood and Thomas More will be invaluable assets to our team. Furthermore, we are eager to see Porter elevate our digital presence as our new Social Media Chair. Her creative vision will undoubtedly make an immediate and lasting impact on the G-MAC SAAC community."
As Social Media Chair, Smith will oversee the committee's digital presence, highlighting SAAC initiatives, community service efforts, leadership development opportunities, and the accomplishments of student-athletes across the conference. The role will help strengthen engagement and showcase the impact of Great Midwest SAAC on and off the field of play.
The leadership trio was voted on following the 2026 Great Midwest SAAC Summit, where representatives from member institutions participated in leadership development sessions, community service projects, networking opportunities, and strategic planning for the upcoming academic year.
The Great Midwest SAAC serves as the collective voice of the conference's student-athletes, promoting leadership, sportsmanship, community engagement, and student-athlete well-being while providing valuable feedback on conference initiatives and NCAA legislation.
Dominic Giacona will continue to serve as chair alongside Balintfy, Greb, and Smith for the 2026-27 academic year. Ashland women’s soccer student-athlete Rachel McCool will also continue her term as the national SAAC representative.
