INDIANAPOLIS – Great Midwest baseball was in full swing this week as all 12 G-MAC teams took the field. This week marks week 5 of full conference play with 3 weeks remaining before the conference tournament at Prasco Park.

Series HIGHLIGHTS:
 
  • Cedarville vs. ODU (ODU wins series 3-1) Ohio Dominican traveled to Cedarville this weekend where the Panthers took three of four on the road. Ohio Dominican took game one 7-6 as Steven Chapman led the way with 2 hits, 1 run, and 1 RBI in 4 at-bats. Game two was all Panthers in a 12-7 win, led by Gavin Lawler who went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored. Game three went into extra innings, but the Panthers came out on top 3-2 after a Noah Schacht single scored Sawyer Hamsher in the top of the 8th, which proved to be the game-winning run. Game four went Cedarville’s way with a 6-2 victory.
  • Tiffin vs. Northwood (Series Split 2-2) Tiffin stayed home this weekend to face Northwood, where each team came away with two wins. Tiffin swept day one with 5-1 and 5-4 victories. Brandon Swope earned the win in game one after throwing 6.0 innings, striking out 6, and allowing no runs. Game two was led by Griff Cady, who went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Northwood bounced back on day two to earn the split with 9-2 and 19-9 wins. Brennan Hallman led the way, going 5-for-8 on the day with 4 runs and 3 RBIs.
  • Walsh vs. Thomas More (Walsh wins series 3-1) Walsh stayed home this weekend and took three of four against Thomas More. The Cavaliers scored 8 runs in each game on day one to take control of the series, winning 8-1 and 8-4 while recording 11 hits in both games. Walsh continued its offensive production on day two, putting up another 8 runs on 11 hits in an 8-7 victory. Thomas More avoided the sweep with a 6-2 win in game four.
  • Lake Erie vs. Hillsdale (Hillsdale wins series 3-1) Hillsdale traveled to Lake Erie and earned a 3-1 series win on the road. Lake Erie came out strong, winning game one 2-1 behind a stellar pitching performance. However, Hillsdale responded by taking the next three games. Game two saw the Chargers record 14 hits in a 9-4 win. On day two, Hillsdale secured the series with 5-1 and 4-3 victories, as the pitching staff kept Lake Erie’s offense in check.
  • Findlay vs. Ashland (Series split 2-2) Findlay and Ashland met this weekend in a key north division matchup. Findlay swept day one with 6-1 and 3-1 wins, highlighted by Carson Mellott’s strong outing in game two (4.2 innings, 1 run allowed, 3 strikeouts). Ashland answered on day two, sweeping with 15-8 and 7-5 victories. Jackson Grine delivered a strong performance in game three, throwing 4 innings and earning the win.
  • Malone vs. KWC (Kentucky Wesleyan wins series 3-1) Kentucky Wesleyan traveled to Canton this weekend and earned a 3-1 series win over Malone. The Panthers took game one 14-5 behind a 16-hit performance. Malone responded with an 8-7 win in game two, led by Doran Mast who recorded 3 hits, 1 run, and 3 RBIs. Kentucky Wesleyan controlled day two, winning 6-5 and 13-10. Tucker Hagan led game one, going 3-for-4 with 2 runs and 2 RBIs, while Rhett Dysholm paced game two with a 4-for-5 performance, adding 2 runs and 3 RBIs.
