Northwood Set to Face Grand Valley in Regional Final

ALLENDALE,Mich. – The Northwood University women’s basketball team continues their journey at the NCAA Division II Basketball Championship. After winning their first conference title in program history, the Timberwolves earned an automatic qualifying spot, ultimately receiving the third seed in the eight team Midwest Regional.
 
The tournament, which is taking place at the top-seeded Grand Valley State University, is being held March 12-16 inside GVSU’s Fieldhouse. The Midwest Regional Final pits the third-seeded Northwood Timberwolves against the No. 1 Grand Valley State Lakers from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).
 
The Timberwolves have now defeated the six-seeded Malone Pioneers and seven-seeded UMSL Tritons to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in program history. Ranked as the second team in the nation by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), Grand Valley advances to their fifth consecutive Regional Final after wins over Maryville and Wayne State.
