Ashland Win's First G-MAC Women's Lacrosse Championship in Program History

ASHLAND, Ohio- The Ashland  women’s lacrosse team claimed its first Great Midwest Championship title after a dominant win over the Findlay Oilers.
 
The Eagles were led by Tori Wanat, who totaled a game-high eight goals. Wanat and the Eagles jumped to a 7-0 lead before Rebecca Chimel put Findlay on the board with 2:29 left in the first quarter.
 
Four different Eagles in Carlie Wilson, Ashley Fisher, Rachel Crumbacher, and Ashley Drexler would go on to score for Ashland. Annie Duncan was credited with the win, making five saves and allowing just three goals.
 
Ashland will earn the conference’s first automatic qualifier in women’s lacrosse for the Midwest Region. The Eagles will await their matchup following the NCAA Selection Show scheduled for Sunday at 7:30 P.M. ET.
