NORTH CANTON, OH: Vice President for Athletics and Athletic Director, Christina Paone is excited to announce the hiring of Rachel Black as the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Walsh University. Rachel served as Interim Head Coach this spring and led the program to 4 All-Conference selections and 2 Players of the Year in the G-MAC.  

Rachel is very familiar to Cavalier Nation as she was a member of the Women's Lacrosse program from 2022-2025. During her time wearing the Maroon and Gold, she was a three time G-MAC Champion, Freshman of the Year in 2022, and earned multiple All-Conference honors. She also holds the school record for most points in a career with 257 points.  

Black said, "Returning to Walsh as the Head Coach is truly a full circle moment for me. This program helped shape me into the person I am today, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to a place that has had such a lasting impact on me. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our Student-Athletes and helping them grow as competitors, students, and people."
