NORTHWOOD NOTES

  • This is the first time in program history Northwood has won the regional title. NU reached the Midwest Regional finals in 2017 but fell to Quincy.
  • Northwood has reached the 40-win mark for the third time in program history, all of which have occurred since 2017. NU won 46 in 2017 and 42 in 2023.
  • In the sports that have a traditional regional tournament (men's & women's soccer, volleyball, men's & women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's & women's lacrosse), this is the first NCAA regional championship in program history. While both Northwood tennis teams have gone at least to the elite eight in the NCAA Tournament, two teams from each region go to the NCAA Championships.
  • Northwood matched its season-high for runs today with 17. NU's 25 hits are the most for the team since the Timberwolves had 25 in a 30-17 win over Grand Valley State April 9, 2024. The last time Northwood had more hits than 25 was in a 20-10 win over Alma April 14, 2021 (26 hits).

UP NEXT

  • Northwood heads to the Division II World Series, which will take place in Cary, North Carolina. The event begins May 31. NU's opponent and game time have yet to be determined.
