INDIANAPOLIS - The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced the addition of Point Park University as an associate member for the sport of men’s lacrosse effective 2025-26 on Thursday afternoon.
Point Park will give the Great Midwest a total of eleven men’s lacrosse institutions in the mix for a new title during the 2026 season. The Pioneers will increase the league’s men’s lacrosse associate membership total to five joining Davenport University, Davis & Elkins College, Seton Hill University, and Wheeling University.
“The Great Midwest Athletic Conference is pleased to partner with Point Park as an associate member in the sport of men’s lacrosse and have enjoyed working with Vice President of Athletics Scott Swain over the last few months to develop this partnership”, said G-MAC Commissioner Tom Daeger. “We look forward to watching the Point Park athletic program grow as a Division II member.”
Point Park will be added to the 2026 men’s lacrosse conference schedule and conduct their home competitions at Highmark Stadium. The Pioneers announced the addition of men’s lacrosse in June of 2024.
“We are excited to be joining the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in the sport of Men’s Lacrosse,” said Point Park University Vice President of Athletics Scott Swain. “Membership in the G-MAC will be a good fit both geographically and athletically for our newly added program. I would like to thank Commissioner Tom Daeger and the conference’s leadership team for making this possible for our Pioneer student-athletes.”
Point Park recently made the jump from NAIA to NCAA Division II and compete as full members of the Mountain East Conference. The Pioneers are in in the first stage of the transitional phase with active NCAA Division II membership.
