INDIANAPOLIS- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference announced its preseason coaches poll for the 2025 women’s tennis season. Tiffin was selected as the top team in the league by G-MAC head coaches.
The Dragons collected 87 points and the majority of first place votes in the G-MAC preseason coaches poll. Tiffin finished the 2024 season with a league record of 28-3 and a perfect conference mark of 9-0. All-conference honorees Ana Lepinay, Emily Barrett, and Carina Avram return for head coach Phil Conley. Lepinay and Barrett were voted to the first team after leading the Dragons to their second G-MAC title. Lepinay went 19-9 in singles, while posting a doubles record of 22-7. Barrett posted a perfect conference records in both singles (6-0) and doubles (9-0) to finish the year 14-9 overall. Carina Avram was selected to the second-team after registering an overall singles record of 16-5, including a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play.
The Oilers from the University of Findlay were voted second, only two points behind Tiffin. Anamarija Kovacevic is the top returner for the Oilers. She finished the 2024 season with a 20-8 singles mark and 22-5 in doubles. The junior from Belgrade, Serbia moved into sixth in all-time wins in Findlay program history. In addition to Kovacevic, all-conference selections Elina Ivanova and Valentina Salek return for Findlay.
Northwood was tabbed the No. 3 spot in the poll with 76 points and the remaining first place vote while Hillsdale was selected fourth. The Chargers return Ane Dannhauser, who was voted the 2024 Freshman of the Year.
Walsh was voted fifth followed by Ashland in sixth.
Cedarville, Thomas More, Kentucky Wesleyan, and Ursuline conclude the 2025 preseason poll.
