ERIE, Pa.- Mercyhurst Captured its fourth Great Midwest Men’s Lacrosse Championship on Saturday, beating Seton Hill 12-9. It was the seventh consecutive time the two programs have met for the title.
The Lakers and Griffins went wire to wire throughout the game, tying the score on five different occasions. Mercyhurst pulled away halfway through the third, securing the win 12-9.
Seven different Lakers would go on to score for Mercyhurst, with Ethan Landymore and Colin Tardif leading the way with three apiece. Brett Olney clocked 60:00 minutes in goal, recording nine saves.
Seton Hill was led by Braedan Lockyer, who connected on three goals for the Griffins. Will Cody led the defensive effort with 15 saves on the day.
In the final NCAA regional rankings, Mercyhurst was tabbed sixth in the North region.
The NCAA selection show will take place on May 5 at 7:30 P.M. ET.
