INDIANAPOLIS- Six institutions were represented on the Great Midwest Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team that was released Friday afternoon.
The coaches voted for the all-conference team and individual award winners, which included a first and second team.
The top two seeds in Mercyhurst and Seton Hill are getting ready to face one another in the championship match, Saturday afternoon.
Regular season champion Mercyhurst claimed three individual awards including Ethan Landymore as Offensive Player of the Year and head coach Trey Keeley earning Coach of the Year.
Landymore averaged 3.00 goals per game while totaling 16 assists for 66 points this season. He led the Lakers to finish first in the conference in goals per game at 17.47.
In addition to Landymore, first year head coach Trey Keeley landed five student-athletes on the all-conference list. Keeley led the Lakers to a perfect conference record of 8-0 and an overall mark of 12-4.
Seton Hill’s Will Cody was voted Goalkeeper of the Year after registering a goals-against average of 8.08 and totaling 135 saves this season.
Andrew Cramer and Garrett Brockmeyer represented Lake Erie as the Freshman of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. In his first collegiate season, Cramer started in 14 games as a midfielder. He totaled 39 points with 31 goals and 12 assists. Brockmeyer, a senior defenseman, picked up 85 ground balls this season and caused 38 turnovers.
Joseph Rush from Walsh University was voted the Specialist of the Year. Rush is first in the league in ground balls with 10.40 through 15 games while sporting a faceoff percentage of .598.
Also from Walsh is the Elite 26 Award winner Matt Bagatta. Bagatta, a senior from Hershey, PA., is an exercise science major.
