MASON, Ohio- After four games at Prasco Park, the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans are the 2024 Great Midwest Baseball Champions. Trevecca, the tourney’s No. 4 seed, went 4-0 in the event and held on to win the decisive game 14-9 over Tiffin.
Tiffin got off to a hot start, scoring two runs in the opening inning. Trevecca answered with five hits in the bottom of the second to take the lead 4-2. The Trojans extended their lead 7-3 in the bottom of the fifth as Abbott Lawrence homered to right field. Lawrence recorded two home runs while Joey Parliament and Cole McCallum each registered two home runs apiece. Trevecca would go on to score seven additional runs to earn the trophy 14-9.
Jack Keele was credited with the win, striking out eight batters through seven innings.
Chase Sain and his team will earn the automatic qualifying bid to the Midwest Regional. The NCAA Division II selection show is set to air on Sunday, May 12 at 10:30 P.M. ET.
