OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Dragons return to the top winning the 2024 Great Midwest Women’s Tennis Championship. Tiffin last won the title in 2022.
Tiffin would face reigning G-MAC Tournament Champions in Findlay in Saturday’s championship match.
The momentum started early for the 26th-ranked Dragons winning the doubles point with victories from Anaelle Lepinay/Maeva Maxch, 6-4 and Emily Barrett/Jemimah Choi, 6-3.
G-MAC Player of the Year Maeva Maxch battled back to win a No. 1 singles, 7-5, 6-2, 6-1 to clinch the championship. Choi grabbed a close two-set victory, 6-4, 7-5 while Carina Avram snagged the first singles victory of the afternoon for the Dragons, 7-5, 6-2.
Tiffin will await the NCAA selection show slated for Monday, May 6 to learn its Midwest Regional tournament opponent.
