GASTONIA, N.C.-  The Walsh women’s bowling team claimed their first Great Midwest Bowling championship title in the league’s third combined championship with Conference Carolinas.
 
The Cavaliers finished the highest of participating Great Midwest teams on the women’s side. The Belmont Abbey Crusaders was the highest finishing team between both conferences.
 
Walsh came up short in the traditional match before coming back to win the baker total pinfall 1,007-869. Belmont Abbey finished on top 4-0 in baker match play to take home the overall title.
 
Kentucky Wesleyan’s Alysa Conley and Walsh’s Maggie Lewis and Kendall Shaar represent the Great Midwest as all-tourament team selections.
