Lakers Men's Lacrosse National Championship Bound

INDIANAPOLIS—The Mercyhurst Men’s Lacrosse team advanced to the Division II National Championship Sunday afternoon, with an 11-10 upset over the No. 1 team in the north region Le Moyne.
 
Le Moyne led all four periods before Mercyhurst’s Jeremi Phoenix-Lefeb found the back of the net to put the Lakers ahead 11-10. Phoenix-Lefab’s second goal of the day solidified the win for Mercyhurst, sending the team to the national championship finals.
 
Goalie Brett Olney was credited with the win in the net, totaling 13 saves.
 
Mercyhurst will travel to Philadelphia, where they will face the No. 5 seed from the south region in Lenoir-Rhyne.
