INDIANAPOLIS-- As one of 22 automatic qualifiers announced during Sunday night’s selection show, Northwood will represent the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in the Midwest Region of the NCAA Championship bracket as the No. 5 seed. Ashland University also earned an at-large bid as the No. 6 seed.
The Timberwolves. Great Midwest regular season and tournament champions, will be headed to Quincy University, one of two host sites for the Midwest Regional games.
NU (41-17,27-5) and AU (33-19,22-10) will play in a double-elimination bracket with the first games taking place on Thursday, May 18.
The first round will feature Northwood vs. No 4 Wayne State. Ashland will travel to Illinois Springfield to take on the Maryville, the No. 3 seed.
Regional winners will advance to the double-elimination finals June 3-10 in Cary, NC.
