INDIANAPOLIS— The Great Midwest Athletic Conference released an update of the Presidents' Cup standings heading into the holiday break. Walsh University leads the race two points ahead of second-place Northwood University.
The Cavaliers had a successful fall season with volleyball sharing the north division title and men’s cross country capturing their fifth straight Great Midwest championship. Walsh totaled 57.0 points heading into the winter season.
Northwood moved into second place with 55.0 points. The Timberwolves won the women’s soccer championship and earned runner-up status at the men’s cross country championship. Northwood sponsors all six Great Midwest sports offered in the fall.
Ashland follows behind Northwood with 54.5 points while Findlay sits in fourth with 53.5 points.
The Presidents' Cup is awarded to the institution that collects the highest tally of points based on regular season winning percentage (standings) or individual meet results (sports with no conference regular season schedule) through the completed spring championship season.
