Great Midwest Represented in Women's National Poll

NEW ORLEANS, LA- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released their latest coaches poll Wednesday (September 28) afternoon. Cedarville, Hillsdale, and Walsh represent the Great Midwest on the Women’s side. The Yellowjackets were voted in the No. 6 slot after being ranked No. 12 in the pre-season poll. The Chargers from Hillsdale College sit at No. 18 and previously-ranked Walsh is still receiving votes.
 
Defending Great Midwest Champions Cedarville University cracked the top ten after winning The All-Ohio Championship on September 16th. Alayna Ackley was a top-perfomer at the meet as she recorded a 17:38.9 time in the 5K to earn first place overall. The No. 6 ranking is the best in program history.
 
Hillsdale dropped three spots, but remains in the top 20 at No.18. Sophomore Liz Wamsley has helped the Chargers place first in both of their meets this season. Other top performers include Margaret Scheske and Gwynne Riley.
 
The Cavaliers from Walsh University are coming off of a third place finish at the All-Ohio Championships
 
Cedarville, Hillsdale, and Walsh will all compete at the Live in the Lou Cross Country Classic this weekend.
