NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Walsh women’s lacrosse team claimed its second Great Midwest Championship in as many years on Saturday after a 11-7 win over Findlay.
The two teams would trade goals to open the scoring, but Walsh would close the period up 6-2 after two first quarter goals Grace Andreski. The Cavaliers found the net three more times in the second period, two of those coming off the stick of Hannah McFeeters. Walsh would lead 9-5 at the break.
The Cavaliers outshot the Oilers 38-19 and held a 25-17 advantage in ground balls. Findlay also turned the ball over 20 times while the Cavaliers only had eight.
Andreski led the Cavaliers with six goals while Kathleen Mendenhall was credited with the save win the net with six saves on the day.
