Unbeaten in league play and ranked eighth nationally and fourth in the North Region, Mercyhurst men's lacrosse collected five of the seven Great Midwest men's lacrosse awards while seeing 13 players earn all-conference honors.
Ethan Landymore (Offensive POY) and Liam Bogedain (DPOY) were voted the conference's players of the year after helping Mercyhurst to an 11-3 overall record and a 6-0 mark in league play. MU is the top offensive team in the nation with 18.36 goals per game and all three of the team's losses came against the nation's top eight teams.
Landymore, a sophomore from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, totaled 81 points (67g, 14a) to become the national leader in goals per game. He was also second on the team in ground balls and caused turnovers. In conference play, he scored a league-best 4.79 goals per game. Bogedain, a senior from Toledo, Ohio, was the top defender on the conference's best team and was among the leaders in caused turnovers.
Fellow Lakers Shawn Doran was voted Great Midwest Specialist of the Year while Brett Olney was named the conference's top goalie. MU's Chris Ryan, owner of a 41-9 record since the 2019 season and who passed 250 career wins this year, is the 2022 Great Midwest Men's Lacrosse Coach of the Year. Ryan also won the award last season.
Walsh's Chase Williams, a native of Hilliard, Ohio, was honored as the Elite 25 winner for academic excellence. He owns a 3.95 GPA as a cybersecurity major at Walsh. Lake Erie's Nick Askin was named the conference's top freshman player. From Geneva, New York, Askin totaled 36 points (25g, 11a) to help LEC to a 4-2 conference record.
