OWENSBORO, Kentucky - The top two seeds in the Great Midwest Women's Tennis Championship are moving on. No. 1 Findlay and No. 2 Tiffin each won Friday to advance to Saturday afternoon's championship match. 

In the day's first semi, a 4-3 Findlay win, UF controlled doubles play for the early lead and got wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. Hillsdale's Melanie Zampardo rolled at No. 3 and HC also got close, three-set wins at Nos. 4 and 5, but Findlay's Laura Brito cruised 6-1, 6-1 at No. 6 for the difference. Laiying Alvarado's three-set win at No. 1 was the clincher.

In the late semifinal, Tiffin rolled past Walsh 4-0. The Dragons won at Nos. 2, 5 and 6 after winning the doubles point to shut out the Cavs. Allessandro Maganuco won 6-1, 6-3 and Carina Avram clinched the match by winning a second-set tie-break at No. 2. 

Findlay and Tiffin will face off Saturday afternoon for the women's tennis title. Doubles play starts at 2 p.m. ET (1 CT).
