Hillsdale College senior Sarah Hackman was voted 2022 Great Midwest Women's Tennis Player of the Year in a vote of the conference's head coaches. In addition to voting Hackman as the top player in the conference, Great Midwest coaches honored Tiffin's Emily Barrett with the conference's freshman of the year award while Phil Conley of Tiffin was named coach of the year. Luciana Pereya of Findlay was this season's Elite 25 award winner.

Hackman, from Island Lake, Illinois, won all six of her conference singles matches playing at the top of HC's lineup. She won 10 singles matches this season overall to go with 12 wins in doubles play. Hackman went 5-1 in doubles play against conference opponents.

Barrett, a native of the United Kingdom, was 17-6 in singles, including a 13-5 mark at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. She went 5-1 against conference opponents in singles matches and was 14-7 overall in doubles play. 

Pereya is the women's tennis Elite 25 winner for academic excellence. She owns a 4.0 GPA at Findlay and is a buisness major. 

Findlay, led by first team all-conference players Eina Ivanova and Laiying Alvarado, will be the No. 1 seed in this weekend's Great Midwest Women's Tennis Championship. Hackman and Hillsdale are the No. 4 seed, while Nos. 2 and 3 seeds Tiffin and Walsh will battle for a spot in the final. The women's championship match is Saturday at 2 p.m. ET (1 p.m. CT).
