UNIVERSITY PARK, Wash. -- The Great Midwest was well represented in the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships at the Division II Fall Championships Festival in Washington on Friday.
In the men's 10K, Walsh's Zach Kreft was the top finishing Great Midwest runner. The Cavalier stopped the clock in 29:53.6 giving him 4th place among the 257 finishers. Cedarville's Evan Leist represented the Yellow Jackets as an individual finishing in 37th place with a time of 30:27.5.
The Walsh and Northwood men's teams finished 18th and 25th respectively. The Cavs with 429 points and the Timberwolves 583.
Kreft was the top finisher for Walsh. Dillian Haviland was the top finisher for Northwood in 113th with a time of 31:27.4.
The women's 6K would follow on Friday afternoon. The Cedarville women finshed in 7th place and were the lone Great Midwest team that qualified for the national race. The Yellow Jackets finished with 271 points. Cedarville's Savannah Ackley clocked in with a final time of 21:24.9. Ackley was the top finisher for the Yellow Jackets.
Individually, Hillsdale's Liz Wamsley was the top Great Midwest runner. The Charger finished in 22nd place with a time of 21:08.9.
