Men’s 8k Preview:
As the reigning champions, the Walsh Cavaliers are seeking to earn their eighth title since joining the conference in 2017.
However, the Findlay Oilers are currently the top G-MAC school according to
USTFCCCA rankings, sitting at twelfth in the nation.
Tiffin is also nationally recognized, ranked at 29. The battle for the top team will likely be a close one.
Ashland’s Wes Taylor is looking to compete big, as he individually won the G-MAC Preview Meet on the championship course in 24:30.3. He also finished 10th at the Alabama Huntsville Invitational.
Isaac Houghton is a strong returner for the Tiffin Dragons this year, as he earned First-Team All-
G-MAC honors in 2025.
Women’s 6k Preview:
Cedarville is looking to uphold their spot as the top distance team in the conference, as they won the meet in 2025 and are seeking their tenth title overall. They are also the only team nationally identified, sitting at 30th in the country.
Caroline Haminlton of Cedarville is looking to lead the Yellowjackets in this competition, coming off momentum from her second place individual finish at Wisconsin-Parkside earlier in the month.
Ashland is another strong team championship contender, as they finished first place at the G-MAC preview meet on the same championship course. Reese Landis and Ava Parrett took first and second place in the meet.
Hillsdale’s Allison Kuzma is the defending individual G-MAC champion, and she is looking for another one. She has come back even stronger than last season, as she won the Michigan State Spartan Invitational in September, and continued to break the conference's cross country 5K record at Notre Dame in October. She is also a returning NCAA Division II All-American.
Following the conference championships, qualifying Great Midwest teams and individuals will move on to the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Championships on Nov. 21 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. If they advance, national qualifiers will advance to the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Dec. 4 in Lawrence, Kansas.
