Awards Round-Up: Men's Cross Country Post-Season Recap

INDIANAPOLIS—Two qualifying teams and a handful of individual qualifiers from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference finished their fall seasons at the Division II National Cross Country Championship. The race took place at Chambers Creek Regional Park, located in Seattle. 
 
Walsh had punched their ticket to Seattle for the fifth straight year after placing third at the Midwest Regional meet. Great Midwest Runner of the Year Zach Kreft also earned Midwest Region Runner of the Year after placing first in the 10K race at regionals. Kreft ended the year an All-American after an outstanding performance at nationals. He finished fourth overall with a time of 29:53.6. His time sits as the best individual performance at the national level for Walsh in program history. Nathan Moore also earned All-American status at the national meet after placing 40th overall at 30:31.0. Both Moore and Kreft helped the Cavaliers record their best team-record to date with an 18th overall team finish.
 
The Northwood University Timberwolves also earned a bid to the national race for the first time in school history. The Timberwolves placed 25th overall in a field of 34 teams. Dillan Haviland led the way with a 113th place finish and a personal-best time of 31:27.4.
 
Cedarville’s Evan Leist qualified as an individual and went on to earn All-American honors at the National Championship after placing 37th overall. He recorded a 10k time of 30:27.5.
 
Two runners from Findlay in Noah Fisher and Jordan Foster, also made an appearance at the National Championship. Fisher finished 71st, while Foster placed 103rd, respectively.
 
Max Gucker from Malone rounded out individual qualifiers from the Great Midwest. He registered a personal-best time of 31:09.0, which put him at 89th overall out of 257 runners.
