Walsh and Northwood Remain in Top 30

NEW ORLEANS—The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association released their week 7 coaches poll Wednesday afternoon. Walsh University and Northwood remain in this week’s Top 30.
 
Walsh is coming off a successful weekend as they were crowned Great Midwest Champions for the fifth consecutive year. The Cavaliers are ranked No. 13 after being No. 12 in last week’s poll. The depth of the Cavalier’s roster was on full display as they swept the All-Conference individual awards. Zach Kreft placed first overall and earned Runner of the Year honors. The Freshman of the Year award went to Walsh’s Evan Jarold, who placed 10th. Rob Mizicko was voted by his peers as the Great Midwest Men’s Cross Country Coach of Year.
 
Northwood finds themselves at No. 29 this week. The Timberwolves finished 2nd  place at the Great Midwest Championship on Saturday. Dillan Haviland led the way as he placed fourth individually in a field of 140 runners.
 
Both teams will prepare for the Division II Midwest Regionals on Nov. 19. The meet is set to take place in Kenosha, WI.
