NEW ORLEANS- This week’s United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association features two Men’s Cross Country teams from the Great Midwest. Walsh remains in the top 20 at No. 12 and Northwood jumps back into the rankings at No. 28.
Walsh is coming off of a big weekend in which they placed first out of 14 teams at the Go Fast River Run. Graduate transfer and Athlete of the Week Zach Kreft led the way as he set a course record in the men’s 8K with a time of 23:47.2. Nathan Moore finished in third place overall with a time of 24:11.2. The USTFCCCA has the Cavaliers at the No. 12 spot.
Northwood returns in this week’s rankings, landing at No. 28. This is the third time this season the Timberwolves have appeared in the national rankings. The team was victorious at the Warrior Challenge last weekend as five runners placed in the top 25 for a first place finish.
Both teams will compete at the Great Midwest Championship Saturday, November 5
th.
