INDIANAPOLIS –
Each institution was represented on the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse All-Conference Team that was released on Friday prior to the championship match this weekend.
 
The coaches voted for the all-conference team and individual award winners, which include a first team, second team and third team.
 
Conference tournament top seed Mercyhurst is getting ready to face No. 2 seed Seton Hill for the fourth straight season as associate members in the championship tournament final on Saturday in Erie, Pa.
 
Those two institutions headlined the majority of the first team list, which includes three from the attack position, four defensemen, three midfielders, a long and short stick midfielder and a goalkeeper.
 
There is an abundance of offensive firepower between the trio of Mercyhurst’s tandem of Caleb Kueber and Devin Pipher and Seton Hill’s Logan Maloni. They ranked as the top three total point scorers in the league and also ranked as the top three performers in the assists per game category.
 
Kueber was the Great Midwest Offensive Player of the Year after averaging a league leading 4.42 goals and 6.92 points per game, going into Saturday. He was offensive player of the week four different times during the spring and had a season-high 10 points vs. Walsh on April 10.
 
His teammate on the other side of the field, Tommy Angelicola, was voted by the conference coaches as Great Midwest Defensive Player of the Year. He led the Lakers in caused turnovers and had four or more ground balls in six games while Mercyhurst has reeled off an 11-1 overall record.
 
The Great Midwest Coach of the Year was Mercyhurst’s Chris Ryan, who in his 21st season, has led his program to four consecutive conference tournament title game appearances. The Lakers are also ranked fourth in both the USILA team rankings and the NCAA North Region rankings while going undefeated in the league schedule.
 
Seton Hill claimed a pair of individual awards with Logan Gray being named Great Midwest Specialist of the Year and Kevin Mo being tabbed the Great Midwest Goalkeeper of the Year. The Griffins are ranked No. 1 in the North Region.
 
Gray led the league in ground balls with 135 total. Mo is 10-1 on the season with a 7.95 goals against average and was named defensive player of the week multiple times for his work in the cage.
 
Mo led the conference in save percentage and was second in goals against average.
 
Lake Erie’s Mike Flury was named the Great Midwest Freshman of the Year while also earning third team all-conference honors as a first-year student-athlete. Flury was the league leader in faceoff percentage with a .673 success rate. He was also named player of the week in the league this spring when going 26-for-26 on faceoff opportunities.
