Official USILA Announcement
INDIANAPOLIS – Postseason honors rolled in for Great Midwest Athletic Conference student-athletes as 16 names were on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Dynamic All-North Region Team.
The Great Midwest is aligned in the North Region for postseason honors and championship bids along with the East Coast Conference (ECC) and the Northeast-10 Conference (NE-10).
Most recently, the postseason came to an end in the NCAA Championship bracket as No. 3 Mercyhurst advanced to the North Region title match and the tournament's final four of the semis.
Seton Hill was also a national qualifier in the North Region and dropped an overtime contest against Saint Anselm (N.H.) in the first round.
Mercyhurst was the Great Midwest regular season and conference tournament champion while serving as host of the North Regional for additional postseason play. In 2021, the Great Midwest also celebrated its first seasonal victory in the Great Midwest/East Coast Conference Challenge Cup standings by winning two of the three contests designated for each league.
The associate member Lakers led all programs with three student-athletes on the first team, including conference offensive player of the year Caleb Kueber and conference defensive player of the year Tommy Angelicola. Midfielder Nathan Grenon also made the grade in a very talented crop of midfielders for first team recognition.
Four more student-athletes made the second team and two landed on the third team. Seven individuals received honorable mention team status as well.
