INDIANAPOLIS – Ohio Dominican and Kentucky Wesleyan posted impressive performance in their teams’ most recent series to collect Great Midwest Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week honors on Tuesday.

The Panthers were able to win three of four against a tough Walsh program that was pegged No. 2 in the preseason coaches poll. Staab, a dangerous switch hitter at the top of the ODU lineup, combined for a cycle in the first two games of the series.
 
The junior outfielder had 8 RBI and hit .429 while posting an on-base percentage of .500 to go with a double, triple and home run.
 
He keyed a doubleheader sweep vs. the Cavaliers on Friday going a combined 5-for-8 in the doubleheader. In the Game 1 win by a 9-8 score, Staab had six RBI while going 3-for-4 at the plate, including the game winning at-bat in the bottom of the eighth inning.
 
He belted a three-run homer in the fifth frame and was credited with a two-run single in the sixth inning.
 
Staab is hitting a team-leading .321 in 30 games. He has a league-leading 30 stolen bases in 33 attempts while recording 35 hits and having 19 RBI. He has 3 triples, tied for second in the league

Against Cedarville, the reigning 2019 Great Midwest Pitcher of the Year was in no-hit form while tossing seven no-hit frames in his most recent start through the league leading rotation.
 
The righty struck out nine while scattering just three hits in his third winning decision of the spring.
 
He walked just one and was backed with ample run support by the offense with five runs, including RBI’s from previous conference players of the week Ben Wilcoxson and Cody Bridges.
 
Smith has 57 strikeouts in 44 innings pitched with a 3.07 ERA (third in the league) to go with a 3-1 record in six starts.
