INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 2 Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers and the No. 5 Tiffin Dragons will battle it out for the Great Midwest Women’s Basketball Championship set for Saturday at 3 p.m. ET in the Callan Athletic Center.
In the first semifinal of the evening, Tiffin led No. 1 Cedarville for the entirety of the game, winning 72-56. Findlay led early against KWC, but the Panthers were in control by halftime, winning 77-57.
The Dragons gained momentum early, led by Aarion Nichols 18 first-half points. She finished the game with 22 points, nine rebounds and four assists. This is the first time since 2017-18 that a No. 5 seed has advanced to the championship game.
In the late game, the Panthers connected for 19 three’s, shooting the ball at 40 percent from deep. Kaylee Clifford contributed seven of those three-pointers en route to a game-high 23 points.
